Tokyo, Japan — One month ago today, The Orange Traveler took off for the capital of Japan after followers of the website selected Tokyo as the next travel destination.

And what an experience it was.

After readers made their voices heard in a poll that closed on Jan. 2 — Tokyo earned 43.52 percent of the 108 votes cast — The Orange Traveler toured the wonders of the city for a total seven days. While there, I visited numerous historical sites, including Sensō-ji and Meiji Jingū, visited the Tokyo Tower and went to a J1 League match between FC Tokyo and Gamba Osaka at Ajinomoto Stadium.

Thanks to everyone who voted for The Orange Traveler to visit Tokyo. Additional content, including more articles and photography, will be made public in the coming weeks, and a new poll to determine The Orange Traveler‘s next destination will also be released later this year. In the meantime, be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for live updates and useful travel information.

Without further ado, here’s a look at my experience in Tokyo:
