Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — On a rainy, overcast day in Rio, there is still so much to do.
For example, if you find yourself in the center of the seaside city, you can explore the beautifully refurbished Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. If you live near Copacabana or Ipanema, you can simply use Metrô Rio and hop off at either the Cinelândia or Carioca stop, and you can then easily find your way to the theater.
Theatro Municipal seats approximately 2,300, and you can purchase a ticket to a show or performance for as little as R$10 ($3.19 U.S.).
Right next door, you can also visit Museu Nacional De Belas Artes, one of many museums in Rio. I was afforded the opportunity to see João Zanin Turin’s exhibit, Vida, obre, arte, and more for only R$8 ($2.56 U.S.).
